I didn't feel that it was a romance or suspense or any of the like, but it was more humorous in my opinion.
I had to constantly look up words and even skip over sentences and words that I couldn't understand so I might not have been able to read it like how Akutagawa wanted it to be read.
There really wasn't a part that I found particularly humorous, it was just the ridiculousness of the characters that I found funny. Also, some of the scenes are pretty ironic which is pretty funny. The whole situation that she's in is so ridiculous, it's funny in my opinion.

でも、芥川は、もしかしたら、そういう意図もあったかもしれませんね。
